Solar-Powered Primary Campus

The Primary Campus at Advaith is a model of sustainable energy use, powered by an advanced solar energy system that underscores our commitment to renewable energy.

• Solar Infrastructure: Rooftop solar panels generate clean, renewable electricity to power classrooms, labs, and administrative areas, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering our carbon footprint.
• Energy Efficiency: The system supports energy-intensive facilities like the Montessori Lab, Computer Lab, and Samsung-powered interactive displays, ensuring sustainable operations without compromising educational quality.
• Educational Impact: Students learn about renewable energy through hands-on activities and curriculum integration, fostering an understanding of sustainability and inspiring them to advocate for green solutions.

Water Harvesting System

Advaith prioritizes water conservation through an efficient water harvesting system implemented across both campuses to address water scarcity and promote sustainable resource use.

• Rainwater Collection: Rooftop harvesting units and strategically placed collection systems capture rainwater, which is filtered and stored for non-potable uses such as irrigation, toilet flushing, and campus maintenance.
• Advanced Filtration: Systems inspired by modern designs, such as the WISY filter, remove debris and ensure clean water storage, enhancing efficiency and tank longevity.
• Educational Value: Students participate in water conservation projects, learning about traditional and modern water management techniques, including those inspired by India's step-wells, fostering environmental stewardship.

This system recycles over 8.7 million liters a year and reduces dependency on external water sources while educating students on the importance of preserving this very vital source of life.

Green Cover in Capital Campus

The Capital Campus is adorned with lush green cover, creating a vibrant, eco-friendly environment that enhances learning and promotes biodiversity.

• Extensive Landscaping: The campus features over 790 trees, native plants, and landscaped gardens, including specialized areas like kitchen and butterfly gardens, which support local ecosystems and attract pollinators.
• Sustainable Practices: Organic waste from the campus is processed through compost pits and biogas plants, producing manure and energy to maintain the green cover and reduce waste.
• Learning Opportunities: Students engage in tree-planting campaigns, gardening activities, and environmental projects, cultivating a deep connection to nature and an appreciation for India's biodiversity.

The green cover not only improves air quality and reduces the urban heat island effect but also provides a serene, inspiring space for students to learn and grow.

Natural Turf

In our journey towards carbon neutrality, we proudly chose living natural lawns over artificial turf across our campus. This decision reflects the same planet-pro commitment seen in global sustainability leaders

• Heavy carbon footprint: Manufacturing one field emits 40-90 tons of CO₂, while releasing microplastics and generating intense heat.
• CO₂: In contrast, our natural lawns actively fight climate change. They sequester 10-30 tons of CO₂ per year through photosynthesis and healthy soil, while producing oxygen and supporting biodiversity.

We selected lawn native to Hosur, drought-tolerant grasses suited to our climate, supported by rainwater harvesting and solar-powered maintenance. Organic practices and electric equipment keep emissions near zero with no plastic exposure to our children. By choosing living lawns, we avoid fossil-fuel-based materials and turn our grounds into powerful carbon sinks.

This initiative forms a key part of our carbon-neutral roadmap, proving that sustainable choices can be both beautiful and effective. Our natural lawns are not just grass—they are living proof of our deep commitment to a greener, healthier future for our students, earth and their future generations.

Neem & Peepal Trees

Advaith School has consciously nurtured Neem and Peepal trees to create a naturally cooler and healthier campus for our students.

• Cool School: These magnificent trees act as powerful natural air conditioners. Through evapotranspiration, they release moisture into the air, lowering surrounding temperatures by several degrees. Their dense canopies provide generous shade, keeping playgrounds, pathways, and buildings noticeably cooler even during Hosur's hottest days offering comfortable spaces for play and learning.
• Oxygen: These trees generally produce pure oxygen. Through photosynthesis, they release substantial amounts of fresh oxygen daily while absorbing carbon dioxide. They also filter dust and pollutants, significantly improving air quality across the campus for our beloved students.

Thanks to these trees, our students breathe cleaner, oxygen-rich air and enjoy a calmer, cooler campus that supports better concentration, respiratory health, and overall well-being.

Earthly Soil or Earth Grass

Concrete generates significant heat. To preserve the natural, earthy temperature and keep the campus cool, Advaith's architectural planning consciously incorporates soil or grass in open areas instead of unnecessary concrete or tiles.

This conscious choice allows Mother Earth to breathe freely while keeping our students and staff deeply connected to her.

Non-Plastic materials

In line with our commitment to a healthier planet and healthier children, we are transitioning our school to be as plastic-free as possible. This initiative builds on our natural turf program and reflects core Montessori principles that prioritize natural, real materials over synthetic ones.

Dr. Maria Montessori strongly advocated for wood, metal, glass, cotton, and other natural materials because they provide rich sensory experiences, support healthy child development, and help children connect with the real world.

At Advaith International Academy, our laboratories, apparatus, toys, learning aids, art and craft supplies, stationery, furniture, and technology accessories are kept as plastic-free as possible. We conduct annual audits to systematically replace plastic items year on year. Our purchase team ensures that plastic-free and sustainable alternatives are prioritized during procurement, enabling us to gradually shift toward biodegradable materials that can naturally return to the earth.

Classrooms, Reimagined by Sunlight

Advaith School classrooms have been consciously designed to nurture young minds — keeping them visually light, mentally clear, and emotionally free. No heavy air. No artificial glow.

Thanks to three large windows and two doors positioned on opposite sides, students feel 28% more outdoors while sitting inside the classroom. At Advaith, they truly experience a pro-Earth education.

• Location: Advaith School in Hosur is nestled in a serene, clean environment surrounded by lush agricultural lands, with no industries nearby. A massive 45-acre lake, just 450 meters behind the school, naturally moderates the temperature and keeps the campus cool.
• Windows: Students rarely need fans — only for about 15 days in April. The lights in the classrooms are hardly ever used, as our spaces warmly welcome Surya Deva throughout the day.
• Doors: While the second door serves as an emergency exit, it also significantly increases the flow of fresh air, breathing life into every classroom.
• Furniture: Our furniture follows elegant European design with smooth, curved corners and no sharp edges, ensuring complete safety. The chairs are thoughtfully crafted for comfortable, continuous seating for more than three hours.
